The Mission of Missoula’s Challenge

Our mission is to provide education promoting healthy choices and reward, with an opportunity for scholarships, those youth who accept the challenge to live alcohol and drug free.

With your help, Missoula’s Challenge plans to award six $1000 scholarships to the graduating class of 2013.

Our Story

In 2009 on the day after Christmas, one young man’s terrible mistake changed many lives forever. Through his decision to drink and drive, he took the lives of 15 year old Taylor and 14 year old Ashlee and seriously injured their friends Hailey and Teal. He had never been in trouble with the law before, but because of that choice, he will serve time in prison and live with the fact that he took two young lives. Taylor’s and Ashlee’s families will never share another Christmas with them.

The inspiration for Missoula’s Challenge came from  seeing the impact of Mariah’s Challenge, an organization in Butte, Montana created to honor another young life lost to drunk driving. Like Mariah’s Challenge, our organization aims to save lives by challenging young people to live drug and alcohol free.  Substance abuse and drunk driving are devastating our communities, but even one individual’s positive choices can have a tremendous impact on many.
